WHO AM I

The person
behind the terminal.

I'm DeWayne Bush — a technology professional with over 15 years of experience working in enterprise environments across product management, program delivery, agile transformation, and technical operations. Vintage64TX is where I take that professional background and apply it to something more direct: helping regular people and small businesses get what they actually need from technology, without the runaround.

The Linux side started because I kept seeing perfectly functional hardware get abandoned — not because it was broken, but because Microsoft drew a line in the sand with Windows 11 requirements. A machine that booted fine on Monday shouldn't end up in a landfill on Friday because a TPM chip is the wrong version. I started doing conversions to give that hardware a second life, and the results were consistent enough that it became a real service.

The website side came from working with small business owners who were paying platform fees every month for sites they didn't fully understand and couldn't fully control. Static HTML isn't a new idea — it's actually the original idea — and for most small business sites, it's still the right one. Fast, secure, no monthly software bill, and you own the files outright.

I'm based in Fort Worth, TX. I work on a small number of projects at a time so the quality doesn't slip. If I'm not the right fit for what you need, I'll tell you that too.

FAQ

Common questions.

Do you service computers outside of DFW?

Linux conversions require an in-person drop-off in the DFW area — hardware work has to be done hands-on. Website projects are fully remote and available anywhere in the country.

What does a flat-fee quote actually mean?

It means the price is set before any work starts, and it doesn't change. No hourly clock running in the background, no extra charges at pickup. If scope changes after we've agreed on a price, we talk about it first — nothing gets added silently.

Do I need technical knowledge to work with you?

No. I translate the technical side into plain language, explain the tradeoffs, and make sure you know what you're getting before anything is agreed. If I use a term that doesn't make sense, ask — that's what I'm here for.
